LAY MINISTRY TRAINING

An organizational meeting for lay ministry training for Lunenburg County congregations
will be held August 30, 7:00 PM at St.Luke's parish hall, Rhodes Corner.

All interested people are very welcome to attend.

PRAYER GROUP

As part of the Lunenberg County Lutheran Churches' Task Force a Prayer Group
was establishedat the February 2011 meeting of the Lunenberg County Task Force.
Margit Coltvet agreed to chair it for the time being. Those interested signed up
and have been meeting two Tuesday mornings a month during March and April.
We know that prayer is a major part of our worship services at all of our churches.
And in addition we felt a calling to meet during the week to pray for the Holy Spirit's
guidance and presence in all of our churches as we seek to do the mission and ministry
in Lunenberg County into the future. We have met in a home as well as in churches that have invited us.

Our mission statement is:

"You can do MORE than pray, AFTER you have prayed.

But you can NOT do more than pray UNTIL you have prayed."

(from "Quiet Talks on Prayer" by S. D. Gordon)

In April we met at St. Luke's Lutheran Church and said a special prayer at the altar,
pulpit and baptismal font - that God's grace would multiply in abundance in the hearts
of the people from these means of grace and that the pastors and people would be filled with joy
as they go out from this place to share the love of Jesus in the community.

The next meetings of the Task Force Prayer Group will be:

All are welcome to attend any of these prayer sessions.

If you would like to share any prayer concerns for your ministry, please feel free to send them by e-mail to Margit Coltvet.
We want to be sure that the pastors and churches are aware that our prayers are meant to support
and strengthen their ministry as we pray for each church and pastor by name. We would appreciate
an invitation to meet in your church. We will not be meeting in July and August.

In His Service, Margit Coltvet
All Saints (Newcombville), Mount Olivet (Upper LaHave) and St. Lukes' (Rhodes Corner)
